Seeing as how I`ve got ideas for future episodes of this, I think I`m more excited about this story than the other one. Weird...
=========================
The first class in the series of six, is Geometry. Sonic has a dislike for this class. Not much because of it`s association with the highly thinking mathematics genre, but mostly because it`s the first class of the day. He would much rather have art or even gym as his first class. But he grudgingly puts up with it since his friends gave him the thought of "at least it`ll be out of the way quicker since it`s the first class."

As the bell to signal the start of the class sounds off, Amy takes her usual seat. Sonic and Shadow take their seats on either side of her. The three of them are positioned in the front and centre of the rows of desks. Espio is next to Shadow while Silver is next to Sonic. In the next row behind Amy, sits Knuckles, Rouge, Fang, Mighty and Blaze. Third row sits Big, Vector, Jet, Wave and Storm. In the remaining two rows are various other teens.

The teacher enters the classroom and the first thing she does is begin roll call, checking the student attendance. She calls off Sonic and then calls for "Shadow Hedgehog?"

She looks over the top of her updated student list and looks at Sonic and Shadow. Both boys respond together, both emotionlessly,"No relation."

"I see..."

The same goes with all the other classes. Sonic and Shadow`s same surname is questioned and they both have to explain that they are not related. By the time gym class comes around, Shadow is getting annoyed with people thinking he`s related to Sonic just because they both happen to have the same surname.

Sonic is particularly excited about gym class. He can finally exert some of his pent-up energy. Shadow is half-interested in gym class. He would be more interested in it if it weren`t for the fact that there were so many people around him.

The excitement over this class seems to have gotten Sonic to drop his leery attitude towards Shadow,"I`m so glad this class doesn`t have use wear any stupid uniforms like a lot of other schools do."

Shadow simply nods his head in silent agreement with Sonic`s statement.

The class is herded outside to where the track is. This is the best part of gym class; the track sessions. Or at least, in Sonic`s opinion this is the best part of gym class. The other students aren`t so thrilled over it since Sonic`s speed makes them feel bad. But for Sonic, it`s so simple and easy, and running fast is his talent.

Today, the gym instructor has been a little under the weather so he gives everyone simple instructions for the day. All they have to do is spend their time out here doing laps around the track and try to build up their speed and stamina. This goes doubly so for those who are on the school track team. Unfortunately, when Sonic tried joining the track team, he was officially disqualified for being too fast. If he ran, he would always win and no one would stand a chance. But this is just fine. That leaves Sonic extra time for his friends and his hero work. Besides, he gets all the running time he could want in free time and during hero time.

While the students are doing their best around the track, Sonic is doing multiple laps and having a blast doing so. Shadow, on the other hand, is just sitting on the bleachers, watching everyone with disinterest. The gym instructor notices him there and decides to sit down next to Shadow,"Why aren`t you running the track with the other students?"

Shadow doesn`t even look at the man,"What accomplishment does one get from this trivial task of running around in circles?"

The instructor is taken back by Shadow`s choice of words. He quickly recovers from his surprise and does his best to answer Shadow`s question,"Well, exercise is good for your body. If you just sit around like a lump, you`ll be overweight and become very unhealthy. Gym class helps stimulate the students` need to get up and move around, especially since most other school classes require you to just sit in a chair."

Shadow turns his head to the instructor with a very serious look on his face, looking him straight in the eyes. The instructor turns away as he finds Shadow`s hardening look very uncomfortable. He sighs and puts a hand on the back of his neck and rubs it softly,"Besides, if you don`t get a passing grade for gym class, they will just make you repeat it until you do pass it."

Shadow slowly stands up from his seat,"Hmp, fine..."

He steps down from the bleachers and walks towards the track. The instructor watches Shadow with great confusion.

Shadow stops by the side of the track with his hands shoved deeply in his pockets. He watches the students run past him. Then Sonic quickly passes by him. By the time the students are passing by Shadow for a second time, Sonic has done five laps around the track. Shadow smirks deviously as he watches Sonic do his laps. As Sonic passes by Shadow for a sixth time, Shadow takes off on the track.

To the surprise of everyone, Shadow seems to be just as fast as Sonic. Although, Sonic knows that Shadow`s hover shoes are giving him an extra boost for the speed. Shadow is running beside Sonic and this gets Sonic irritated. Gym class USED to be fun and something for him to look forward to. Now, with Shadow participating and being as fast as he is, gym class is going to be a drag. Whenever Sonic picks up in his speed, Shadow speeds up as well. It gets to the point where the two are running so fast that the other students have to clear off the track to make way for them.

The instructor of the gym class can`t help but stare in amazement.

Sonic isn`t the only one who has the gift of great speed...
