Once again, as a reminder, do not make any editing or corrections to this, do not point to me of any mistakes. I will not make corrections. I`m leaving this mostly as is of what it was when Tojo and I rped this out. We both have different rp styles so expect there to be some inconsistencies in things such as apostrophes and tenses.

Unfortunately for Shadow and Maria, they were falling through some kind of field; it created a strobe effect all around them which would likely be a little scary to her. Shadow just kept grumbling and growling under his breath at what happened, attempting to grasp onto Maria firmly.

Maria struggles for a bit trying to grab Shadow`s hand, no thanks to the lack of gravity in here. When she finally grabs his hand, her fingers lace between his digits. She breaks her silence and looks straight to his face. Her emotional eyes do not hide how terrified she is,"Shadow, I`m scared! What is this place?"

"..I don't know.. I don't know.. hold on!" Suddenly, they'd hit down something hard, everything went black; if she managed to hold onto Shadow tightly, she'd be with Shadow. However..if she missed in the end, she'd be somewhere completely different..

Unfortunately, she couldn`t maintain a tight grip with Shadow. Laying down as though she were a ragged doll just thrown on the floor, Maria slowly opens her eyes and has a headache,"...Mm...Shadow...?"

She shifts her eyes around to see where she is and if Shadow is with her.

Shadow was not with her; in fact, she couldn't even be sure of where she was. Her surroundings made themselves clear to her; she was in some sort of minor "control room", dimly lit with a few computer terminals, stacked papers, and all sorts of things. However, something wasn't right..the lack of people, how rusty much of the equipment was, and that smell..it seemed as if this place hadn't been in use for a long long time. A few of the terminals, surprisingly, were on, as well as a "security feed" station where security cameras showed footage.

Maria starts lifting herself off the floor and she looks around again. It becomes obvious that if she were to try to call out to anyone, it would be a futile attempt. Finding nothing that would identify to her where she was, she looks over to the camera footage screens, hoping maybe those would give her a clue.

Only a few of the screens were online - the majority were showing only static. From what she could see, the scenery was very unsettling; one of the cameras showed a room where the lights kept flickering, another showed some creepy movement in one of the shadows.. Another showed a piece of equipment on fire and no one tending to it, the last showed nothing of particular import. The creepy movement soon stopped, whatever it was, if she even caught a glimpse of it, left.. Her surroundings were unsettling, to say the best.

Maria clasps her hands together and holds them to her chest and bites her bottom lip in full worry. She is looking at the screens, unaware of what may be going on behind her. She manages to finally squeak out,"Nothing?" referring to the lack of clues she has on where she or Shadow are.

There was some sort of movement, the dropping of what sounded like a can in an open door way towards her left; the halls are fairly dark, however. Caution was best exercised..

Maria whirls around to see what has happened. She want to know what that was yet is afraid to go investigate. She knows she isn`t exactly the fighter type if anything were to happen. She quietly says,"Shadow?"

When no answer comes, she takes a deep breath and makes the decision to investigate. She takes slow, careful steps towards the door. She stops at the door way to look down the hall. It looks as though it would be near impossible to see where she is going. She puts her hand on the wall to serve as a guide and she continues to slowly walk down the hall.

She comes to a more well-lit hall where there was someone in view, shuffling about; this was very odd, suddenly a putrid stench wafting over her. At first, it looked like an ordinary scientist, turning to look at her. Freezing at first, it continued to turn; the entire side of his face was torn off, a bloody lab-coat in perfect view. It suddenly wailed out something unintelligible, and shuffling came from behind him; more "ghouls" started to step out into view, and the way they unnaturally shuffled and stared hungrily at her would be frightening; obvious exits for escape would be a "hatch" to her left, or going back the way she came.

"Oh!"

Maria`s hand clasps over her mouth upon this sight. Where in the world has she landed?! She quickly reacts and turns around, running right back to the room she was in. Once in the door, she wastes no time closing the door and locking it. Maria puts her back to the door and leans back against it. Her hands grasps the sides of her head as she is in near tears. This is a nightmare...

For a little while, she is safe; the ghouls and creeps were staved off by the heavy metal door, which would serve as a fair barricade against them. This was just a taste of what this place was all about..; there were only two other doors leading out of the room, one leading to the right and one across from the door she leaned against. Over the loud speakers was something..

"Remember to always set your tools away, and all lab specimens into their respective places; a well organized lab is a happy lab!"

It was just a tape; any hopes of it being anything useful would quickly subside. Suddenly, the ghouls began to beat on the door, moaning and groaning; she should probably leave..

Maria makes a quick glance to the camera monitors on the screen and then goes for the other door. She stops halfway down this hall and puts a hand on the wall for support with her other hand on her chest. Perhaps she is doing too much so soon from being revived. She takes another deep breath and continues down the hall. As she does so, she runs through her head of where Shadow could be, if he was all right and how bad she wishes he was with her.

She was emerging into an area where a lot of rusted machinery was moving around; a large robot in the center of the room was wandering around, seemingly doing little. When it spotted her, however, it started to clamp its right arm, clacking it rather quickly, suddenly swinging at her roughly; it was rusty and slow, and prone to miss her.. if she dodged, the obvious exits were north or west; a large double door area was opened up to the north and fairly lit, darkness to her left..

Preferring the light, Maria circles around the enraged robot to go for the north door. She slips on the way and scrambles to her feet to avoid being hit. In the process, one of her shoes falls off. She leaves it behind and continues for the north door.

As she'd probably continue running, it was just another long hall after this one; it was slightly less well lit. Suddenly out of nowhere, something grabs her, one arm circling around her stomach while the other covers her mouth; she's roughly dragged into a small room, the door shutting behind them, her assailant leaning against the door.

"..Listen, I'm going to make this quick.. I'm going to let go of your mouth, and when I do, -DO NOT- scream..I repeat.. I'm Private Jacob Krebs, and somethings gone seriously wrong here.."

He sounded young, probably not even twenty yet. The soldier let go of her.

Maria`s body is shaking in terror. She slowly turns around to face the soldier that has grabbed her.

The man was standing in front of the only door out of the small room; he looked eighteen or nineteen years of age, wearing an updated G.U.N. uniform and a helmet; human, he has black hair and a fair build.

"..What's your name. What are you doing here.."

An assault rifle was slung over his shoulder, other obvious weapons being a small hand-gun at his waist and a combat knife.

Maria`s hands clasp over her mouth and she backs away from Jacob upon seeing the GUN letters on his uniform. She draws her hands away and she is just as afraid of this man as she is of the ghouls,"Oh no...GUN`s here, too..."

Her eyes change as though she is about to burst into tears. She has hidden well any mental affects she got from the attack on Arc but this situation is making it impossible for her to hide it now,"Don`t hurt me again, please..."

"..What? ..I'm not out to hurt you..I..guess I'm out to protect you but..I don't know much of how I even got here.."

Looking around, he looked back to her, thinking it was a G.U.N. ghoul that attacked her, which might present her fear of G.U.N. officials.

"Were you bit..? Are you alright?"

Maria is now cowering against the opposite wall from him,"You tried to kill me...Your organization tried to kill me, why? I hadn`t done any harm to anyone."

"I don't know what you're talking about, girl..look, I know you probably feel like the unluckiest girl in the world, but now that I found you I aim to get you out of this alive.."

Slowly approaching her, offering a gloved hand.

She jerks back from him in fear that he`s going to repeat in what the old GUN members did. Maria keeps her eyes on him, though, as she continues to tremble uncontrollably.

For a long long time, he just stood there, watching her tremble and cower away from him, but eventually he spoke up.

"..Look.." Pausing, looking over her, mistaking her for just another human girl.

"I could open this door, and let you go out there..but have you seen the horrors wandering around this kooky fun-house? ..You're not gonna last long out there.. I'm surprised -I- lasted this long.. We're going to have to work together to get through this, and you're gonna have to come with me."

Her voice comes through shaky as she finally speaks to him again,"M-Maria...Robotnik...My name is Maria Robotnik..."

"Maria Robotnik? ..Well, Miss Robotnik..Jacob Krebs, nice to meet ya."

Getting a response out of her, he offers a hand.

"It's my duty to see you out of this..we'll take it slow and easy, and avoid the creeps and 'bots."

Her hand carefully accepts his, though she takes it like she did with Tails, in a very old-fashioned manner. She doesn`t really trust the guy but what other options does she have? She takes her eyes away from Jacob,"Where am I?"

"You're in the lower levels of.. according to reports we're on some kinda space station called ARC, but that's total bull..That'd mean we're out in space. I don't know how the berserk 'bots and creeps fit in."

Hefting his assault rifle, he neared the door, as if getting ready to open it.*

Maria now suddenly looks at Jacob alarmed,"Arc?!"

"That's what my com-unit said."

Holding up a little pocket personal computer, he tossed it over to her; the information was scarce, but it read about ten years after the arc incident.

"I don't get why it keeps saying that date.."

His uniform was slightly different from the ones soldiers wore then, more updated and modernized.

"Something seriously screwed went down here..and I don't have a clue."

Maria puts both hands on opposite sides of the pocket computer and closes her eyes. She stands fully up and her voice is still a little shaky but she seems more calm than what she was a moment ago,"The only way off here is taking a pod to Earth..."

"Then we're screwed, girl.. I checked the escape-pod bay, all were used up."

Looking through the slit of the door, looking back to her.

"..Though, I saw two blips on the monitor; you and some other were the only people alive on this ship, other than me..Those things out there, not really alive.."

She opens her eyes and looks at Jacob,"Another? There is another?"

"Yeah, up north..but it's too far away. I mean, hell, we'd probably have to fight out way through entire legions of those things.."

Maria gives the soldier back his pocket computer and kicks off her remaining shoe. No sense in keeping the shoe since the other is lost. She walks to the door and says simply,"We`re going to find him."

"Who? How do you know it's a him.."

The soldier started off, looking back at her oddly.

"And you should..probably get some shoes on..there's a lot of metal flooring around..would probably be killer on your feet."

"I`m used to metal floors..."

She grabs the handle of the door and pulls it open.
